Short Biographies:
Marlene Stanger:
Marlene is an ambitious attorney who came to Crane, Poole, and Schmidt Boston after working at the firm of Howard and Brock. She is nicknamed "The Squid" because Squid are the only animals capable of killing sharks. Alan Shore seems to be the only shark who's been in the grasp of her suckers and come out alive.
Claire Simms:
Claire grew up on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and comes from a middle income family. Her relationship with her mother is close, and her father is very distant. As a teenager she wasn’t extremely rebellious usually only sneaking into clubs while underage, anything else would have gotten her into deep trouble with her physically abusive father.
She attended New York City Public Schools for her pre college education, then the City University of New York for her undergraduate education, and New York University for Law School. Claire worked as a receptionist at a law firm during college and as a law clerk during law school. Her early career was spent in the Manhattan Legal Aid office and at a smaller law firm in Manhattan then at Crane, Poole and Schmidt. Her move to Boston was against her better judgment and after a few months there, came back to New York.

Trish Allen:
Trish is Alan Shore's 20-something assistant and one he gets along with very well. She puts up with his occasional comment and doesn't seem to mind the fact that he rates her wardrobe. She and Alan have an excellent working relationship.
Judge Gloria Weldon:
Judge Weldon recently moved from Boston to New York. Her reputation in Boston suffered a bit after a rumored class 4 narcotics charge magically disappeared. She and Alan Shore had personal relationship while he was in Boston, Alan was the one that broke it off a few months after it began.
